Helping you find the answers is our specialty

We partner with foundations, nonprofits, and government agencies to help assess the impact of community investments and figure out what works to improve health.

Our evaluation services

We do collaborative, realistic, and nimble evaluations

EvaluationFramework_1-col.png We promote the use of evaluation for learning and improvement. Our approach is aligned with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) program evaluation framework.

Our suite of services ranges from planning, implementing, and communicating results of an evaluation to consulting on evaluation components.

We will work with you to visually describe your program and its expected outcomess—check out our guide to using logic models. We can help you plan for data collection and/or collect your evaluation data.

CCHE analyzes qualitative and quantitative data, communicating results in a variety of formats. We are continually developing new visual ways to help stakeholders understand evaluation findings.

Evaluation of grantmaking portfolios

For over 20 years CCHE has evaluated health funders’ community health initiatives, including those that target multiple geographic areas. Over the course of an evaluation we engage multiple stakeholders—including an organization’s staff, board, and grantees as well as community members.

CCHE specializes in working with philanthropic organizations to build evaluation into strategic planning for community investments—including evaluating the long-term legacy and sustainability of grantmaking initiatives.

We partner with funders to plan and implement evaluations that drive decision making, promote learning, and improve programs. We are known for our ability to engage grantees and communities in the evaluation process.

Evaluation capacity building

CCHE embeds evaluation capacity building into its evaluation work with foundations and grantees. We provide both formal training and coaching services as well as tools and resources.

We focus on building sustainable evaluation practices. Our practical, hand-on approach includes customized webinars, in-person workshops, and individual coaching.  We also can assess your organization's evaluation capacity.

Community health needs assessments

GHRI-ITfair2013_300x170.jpgCCHE has conducted community health needs assessments for nonprofit hospitals. We combine  secondary data on health status and health determinants  with input from community stakeholders.

We also work with healthcare systems to plan and track progress of implementation strategies that result from these assessments.

CCHE does its work with integrity and makes clear any limitations, which is a huge help for folks who are steering the ship.
