Project Proposal Review Procedures
- Interested investigators must submit a “Proposal to use Breast Cancer Surveillance data” application.
- The application is available on the BCS web site or directly from one of the GH investigators.
- As soon as the application is received the Surveillance Project Manager will record applications into the tracking database.
- The Surveillance PI will review each application and assess:
- Feasibility of the project
- Appropriate use of BCS data
- Potential overlap with other BCS projects and active proposals.
- The PI will:
- Approve the request. OR
- Return the request to the investigator for revision, e.g., to reframe the proposal so as to not overlap with existing projects or to provide more complete descriptions of the project. OR
- Forward the request to the Scientific Advisory Board for review. OR
- Advisory board reviews proposal for appropriate use of data.
- PI will make final decision.
- Deny the request.
- Once the proposal decision is made, the PI will:
- Notify the investigator(s).
- If appropriate, instruct the investigator to follow the next steps in the research proposal sequence.
- Notify the PM the status of the project.
