Abstract:
- To examine how breast density changes among women who initiate, discontinue or continue using: SSRIs (with other antidepressants as a comparison group), NSAIDs, or weight loss drugs. We will complete 3 separate analyses for each drug class and will compare the results to never users.
- To examine whether there are differences in change in breast density among subclasses of major drug classes (e.g., differences between analgesics vs. non-steroidals).
-
To examine whether mammographic breast density measured clinically by radiologists at the time of screening mammograms is affected by fertility drugs. To test this hypothesis, we will conduct a case-control study where we will examine breast density before and after use of fertility drugs and compare changes in breast density among an age- and time-matched control.
