Biography

Aruna Kamineni came to Group Health Research Institute in 2009 with a wealth of experience in cardiovascular and cancer epidemiology. Attracted by the Institute’s well-established cancer research program, Dr. Kamineni is excited to build on her 2010 dissertation evaluating the efficacy of cervical cancer screening in older women. She is currently working with Senior Investigator Diana Buist, PhD, and others to compare the effectiveness of  various screening strategies for cervical and colorectal cancers. Dr. Kamineni’s future research goals include studying the impact of human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA testing and HPV vaccination on cervical cancer and  screening programs.
